We often slowly accept “this is how things have to be.” Then, once in a while, life interrupts us. Perhaps it’s laughter, beauty, or suffering. And then we have a chance to reimagine our world.
I used to have two sites dedicated to these great interruptions, Reconciliation Poetry and The Poetry Brigade. I now combine them on this site.
When I was very down, I heard a lecture that changed my life. It introduced me to the poetry and songs of great people who found a way to remember the marvelous of life during its worst moments: Bob Marley, Seamus Heaney, WB Yeats, and others.
Since 2013, I’ve shared free poetry for those reaching for the words to explain the inexplicable, unbearable and irreversible. In 2025, I moved the poems to this site. I hope you enjoy them!
The words are advertising free, shared to help people dealing with life’s 10,000 sorrows and its 10,000 joys.
For Reconciliation Poetry.com, these words reached 152 countries and territories, primarily in the US, with the UK, Canada and Australia being the second largest market. I did no advertising or promotion. I let it be found by those searching for helpful words.
